NSW - Silent Disco on the Beach
CULLERCOATS 2024
Event Information
Headphones
A refundable £10 CASH security deposit will be taken for EACH silent disco headset. On safe return of the headset at the end of the event you will get your £10 back. £10 notes would be much appreciated.
Music/lighting
All headsets have individual volume controls for your comfort.
Strobe lighting will not be used during the event.
Card/Cash
Please bring cash for your headphone deposit/s. You can pay with cash or card at the bar.
Tickets
Please download your tickets onto your phone or print them out before arriving on the beach. Phone reception is patchy on the sand.
Alcohol/drugs and vaping/smoking
Only drinks bought at the event are to be consumed. (Drinking water available from the bar.)
Drugs are strictly prohibited.
We understand you may wish to vape or smoke at the event and so we have provided buckets for ‘tab ends’. Please be mindful of others’ space when smoking/vaping. (Smoking is prohibited in and around the marquee areas.)
Bag Checks
Our security team will be performing bag checks on entrance.
Weather
Of course we are hoping for fine weather but, being an outdoor event, it is open to the elements. The ‘show will go on’ in wet weather and will only be stopped if the weather compromises safety.
Even in good weather the temperature can drop later into the evening.
Please come prepared (wet weather gear AND sunscreen recommended, and think ‘practical’).
Seating
There will be no seating available at the events. You’ll be pleased to know the sand is nice and soft! Feel free to bring your own chairs however we would ask that these are placed around the edge, not ‘the dancefloor’.
Entrance requirements
As per our terms and conditions, the evening event is strictly over 18’s. Anyone who is deemed to be intoxicated or ‘under the influence’ will be denied entry. We will be operating a ‘Think 25’ policy, please do not be offended if security ask you for ID to prove you are over 18.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to have fun at our events so we will do everything we can to make them accessible. Please get in touch with us to discuss your specific needs.
Toilets
The North Tyneside Council run facilities will be open for the duration. Please leave them how you would like to find them!
First aid
We are not expecting any particular risks to our silent disco dancers however we understand that accidents can happen. For this reason, we have a dedicated First Aid team on hand throughout the event. Please alert us as soon as possible if you sustain an injury or need assistance.
Safer spaces
Silent Disco on the Beach is a joyous, welcoming event where everyone should be given a safe space to enjoy themselves. If you are troubled by unwanted attention or someone else’s behaviour please speak to a member of the bar staff or security team. If you feel unsafe and unable to say so openly just ask for Angela and we’ll find a place for you to talk/arrange a route for you.
Water safety
Cullercoats is a beautiful place but remember the sea is a formidable force.
Alcohol does not make you Tom Daley so we kindly ask that you refrain from swimming whilst at the event, or under the influence of alcohol.
Covid
To keep everyone safe we kindly request that you do not attend if displaying symptoms of covid.
Food
We have a great range of soft and alcoholic drinks available but will not be offering any food at the event. Please make sure you are fuelled for dancing before you come!
You may bring a picnic with you to consume during the event, but liquid sustenance will have to be left at the door and drinks purchased from the bar.
Cloakroom
We’re on a beach and don’t have a cloakroom. Please keep this in mind when deciding what to bring with you.
Transport/travel/parking
Cullercoats Harbour beach is within easy reach of the metro and buses. The last metro to Monument (via Byker) leaves at 23:39, the last one to Manors at 00:09. Please check for your specific journey before dropping down on to the beach as the phone reception is patchy.
The closest pick up points for pre-booked taxis are outside the Crescent Club or The Queen's Head.
For those travelling by car parking is available in Front Street Car Park or in the surrounding streets. Please park with regard for local residents.
Animals
Animals are strictly prohibited. If you require a service dog to enable you to access our event please let us know by messaging tickets@awesomesilentdiscos.co.uk.
No Liability
Awesome Silent Discos is unable to accept responsibility for loss or damage to any event-goers person or property.
Litter
We are very proud to be able to hold Silent Disco on the Beach on one of the most beautiful beaches you could wish for. Please help us keep it beautiful by not littering.
Bins will be provided. Be a love and use them.
